Plug icon on battery meter when connected to another device
So when I connect my Playbook to my Xbox via USB to charge it, it shows a plug on the battery meter, so does that mean its charging or just tells me it's connected to another device?

Both. It it's a powered micro USB port, then the Xbox is providing power to the Playbook - just like if you connect it to your laptop.
Edit- Plug means charged, lightning bolt means charging. Why is it that when your contract commitment is up, the phone you always wanted is now old and the phone you now want won't be out until the next quarter?

Plug could mean charged. It could also mean the power source is providing just enough power to keep the charge it has or increase the percentage very slowly. Depending on how much power your using the percentage could drop also.
It's not a sufficient source of power for charging but if your using the PB to HDMI for instance it will help slow down the battery drain.
If you wanted to charge the PB like that it would be best in standby. - 05-30-2012, 10:59 PM #4
Launch Battery Guru next time and watch the charge graph to determine if an actual charge is occurring.

My observations have been somewhat as Chad indicated. I believe the plug is displayed when there is current present but no charging is taking place, as when the PB is fully charged or plugged into a source with insufficient output to initiate charging. I noticed this when I first got my PB and was trying to see if it would charge on my BB charger. It wouldn't charge but barely kept it from discharging, so there was current flow, just not enough to exceed the threshold needed to change the icon to a lightning bolt.
I have one USB port on my computer that does not supply power and the plug will display when using that port. Peter's suggestion will remove any doubt. I need to try that too. There are trolls in BlackBerry clothing among us. Report, ignore and never reply to obvious troll posts, they will die without responses from you. - 05-31-2012, 01:49 AM
