Playbook wont turn on, charge and NO lights
Hi all,
I'm a long time lurker and I'm always hesitant to start new threads. I've tried finding help through past posts on my issue (which I know comes up a lot) but they never quite match up.
Like many others my PB went down and now will not turn on or charge. Most of the advice given centers around "wait for red LED then..." and a variety of suggestions. The problem for me is I get NO LED whatsoever. Sometimes, very rarely I might get a single blink of red for less then a second but almost everytime just nothing.
I have tried:
-Stack charging (at various intervals)
-Leaving it connected to the factory charger for 24 hours
-Buying a quick charge pod
-All manor of hold (buttons) for X amount of seconds
I contacted RIM and they're happy to send a replacement once I send mine in, but I use my playbook for business and I have confidential client information on there as well as some of my own and I hate the thought of the hard drive just disappearing and who knows who looking at it. I assumed they would just swap batteries but they said they would be sending a new one.
So apologies for a the new thread but I'd MUCH rather fix this myself if at all possible since I can't get my PB back apparently.

btw, Jagr one of the best players of his generation. Doesn't get enough respect in NHL circles.

Hi - I have the same problem and cannot seem to find out how to return my PB to RIM. May I ask who you contacted? I am running out of time before my year is up and I've been shut down twice by their helpdesk. Thanks, S

i had this on my second playbook a few weeks ago. stayed up for hopeless hours while F2 was helping me. the stack charges seemed hopeless. did it for all the intervals, all he lengths of holding the buttons, hard reset buttons,etc. was so hopeless for like 6 hours of playing wih it and being plugged in overnight. eventually and randomly it came to life. dont give up and just keep doing it all.

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"
