I've been told that a PlayBook's features and capabilities are severely limited if you do not have a BlackBerry phone to bridge it with. Is this true? I am in the market for a cheap tablet for web browsing and watching movies. I have been very impressed with the price of the 16GB PlayBook. Is it worth the money spent if I don't have a BlackBerry phone to bridge it with?
I don't have a blackberry phone...It does everything i wanted it to do when i bought it... infact it does more now it runs android, has native email....(didn't when i bought it...but i didn't / don't care anyway)
Unless you:
-require bridge to use the bb data connection on the go (and don't want to use wifi hotspot)
-already purchased a ton of apps in another ecosystem like Google (in this case getting a PB in the first place doesn't really make sense)
Having a BB phone or not won't really matter. It's just nice to have, like using the bridged remote control.
