I've noticed more people reporting on the forums that changing their router's wireless mode from mixed to b and g solved their wifi connection problems.

But will doing that also increase the performance? And will it affect range?

For me, with the Netgear router.....the longer range protocols are only any good if you have their hardware on the receiving end. Obviously, I don't have a netgear wireless card in my playbook.

So it kinda depends on what you have.

I live in an apt so it's no issue.
