I found the 32gb BlackBerry PlayBook on Walmart.com for $159.00. I normally don't shop at Walmart, but I am making an exception in this case.

In Canada, the 32gb is $149 at most places. A couple of months ago, Walmart Canada had an insane sale price for the 32gb PB, $118 CAD. They sold out really fast.

My order from Walmart came in the other day after I had to return my previous one as DOA (bought elsewhere).

Great prices, snap em up while you can. Obviously inventory clearance. I doubt that RIM will manufacture any more to sell at a loss.

I just picked up a used 16 GB Playbook including a rapid travel charger for $40.
The Playbook was playing dead, very dead. No lights at all. Had been laying around for a few months with a dead battery so it wouldn't boot.
I took a chance. At worst I would have paid $40 for a rapid charger.

After trying several stack charging methods without success, I pulled off the back, disconnected the battery for a few minutes and put 'er all back together. It's charging and working great. Just finished updating to 2.10.1088.
I set it up for my wife so we can use video chat when either of us is out of town.

Thanks to the forum and it's members for the detailed instructions on how to get it running again.

Already have the 32 GB, so I'm waiting for the 64 GB to drop near the $190-200 range (maybe on Black Friday? which I assume Canadian retailer will also have a Black Friday this year too.)

Was tempted several times to get the lower priced 32 GB - especially when the bundled 32 GB + BB keyboard + case went on sale for $199 last week (but took the gamble to wait for the 64 GB).

They're sold out online there and all of the Office Depot locations around me are shown as being out of stock (but you cannot always trust the online store inventory feature) and there's supposedly 1 64GB PlayBook available in the Atlanta area.

It's looking like a lot of places are getting out their Black Friday pricing early. This could get very interesting as we get closer to next Friday.

Don't believe this is BlackFriday pricing... It's called getting rid of dead stock to make room for Christmas merchandise. If you want a deal on a PlayBook you better get it now, I don't see RIM producing anymore of them once they are all gone (they would have to do another write-off if they did, and their stock value could not take anything negative like that).

The next time you see stock for PlayBooks with be with a 2nd Gen device, and RIM will try to make money from the sale of it, so no more $199 and lower pricing.

I wonder how much it would cost to manufacture the PlayBook now? They wrote off most of the development cost already .. may be worth it if they sold say an updated 1.5ghz 32 gig at, say, $250 (I thought I heard it costs them around $200 to manufacture).
