I cannot connect to my PB as a USB drive. When I plug it in with the USB cable, no drive pops up in Windows.
Under "Storage & Sharing" I have File Sharing turned on.
When I plug in USB the PB screen displays "Connected to Computer" and I hear the Windows sound for connecting a USB device. However, I don't see a drive pop up in Windows.
On the PC open the DM.
Connect the PB <> PC by USB cable. DM will show connecting to the PB in the lower right hand corner.
After 'connected': the PB will show up on the PC's file directory as a network drive, usually z:
You can open the drive. You can move, paste, rename ... and do other stuff to the files in the drive directory
It doesn't mount as usb mass storage (except as a driver install cd initially).
It's a Samba network share for security reasons. (RNDIS via USB cable or directly via Wi-Fi).
Thanks for the replies. I got the suggestion I needed. It turns out the solution was to turn off my PB before connecting it to my computer. Strange bug. I had to turn off my PB, reboot my computer, start DM, and then connect my PB (still powered off). The PB turned itself once it was plugged in and the necessary connections were made. I can now see my PB as a drive on my laptop.
My PC finally detected my playbook when I selected "Connect to Windows" instead of "automatically detect" in USB connections, in Storage & sharing settings.
