So this playbook belongs to my brother. I dont know what he did to it or anything. But for some reason the playbook shows with a total storage of '0' bytes. Free storage is nothing there. total memory is also zero. everything else is blank. I have tried to do a device wipe it won't let me. I have tried connecting it to the computer and doing a device wipe it won't let me. I have even tried repairing it via DM and it says I cant. Any advice?? Its basically paperweight right now. While I can turn it on and use it, I cant do much with it. Thank you for your help!

    Tried a reboot ?

Hold down: [VOLUME UP] + [POWER] + [VOLUME DOWN] for 5-10 seconds.

Your last option is CFP. I haven't used it, but it is an by RIM made update/downgrade tool that has leaked out.

Try the rooting subforum for CFP help

What have you tried when you mention "wipe?" You have tried the Option/Gear and then Security and then WIPE? Does the pb respond to any functions at all?

IF the suggestion above does not work here then try pressing and HOLDING just the Power On button for 20 or so seconds. Release it and then wait for another 15-20 seconds and see if the Red led turns on and let it reboot.

To fix an issue, try these in order:

Restart using the Battery Icon and press Restart

Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds. Then leave it for 20-30 seconds and see if it restarts.

    To REBOOT:
Press and HOLD all three keys for about 10 - 20 seconds: PowerOn, VolUp and VolDown. Start with the PowerButton. Keep holding past the 3-choice options screen. If you hear a shutter type sound, you've taken a Screen Shot and probably missed the PowerButton.

yes, I have done the heavy reset, I have done soft reset. Ive tried going into settings and doing a wipe via security settings. None of those things work. I will give CFP a shot later today, but so far nothing else has worked,

Also, I believe its out of warranty, but thank you for that suggestion!

Mine does the same thing then wont go past rolling bubbles on reboot. have to let it go till battery dies trying to reboot, plug in and reboot a few more times till it comes on with exceptionally weak battery. works for a few hours then sequence starts again. first clue is the wifi and email accounts disapperar then memory goes to 0 then nothing works.

I encountered exactly this last week after connecting to a hotel's free wifi... the solution? Move well out of range of that wifi AP then reboot your PB and don't try reconnecting to that AP again, i.e. remove it from your list of saved APs.
