    When I turn on my PlayBook it takes a long time to initially load. In comparison, my wife's iPod fires right up. Is this just a fact, or is there something I can do to make it load faster?

    2 1/2 minute or so boot times are normal for the Playbook.

    Why do you shutdown? Don't reboot or shutdown unless you need to. So in this case standby is fine.

    I rarely ever shut off my PlayBook.
    Just put it into standby mode and swipe the screen from one end to the other to wake the PlayBook up to to use.

    Yeah, don't shut it down.

    Mines been on constantly for about 2 years. the only time it's been off is when there's been an update ( so very rare )
