    I just called support to have mine sent in. I have no waranty so I hope it wont cost a lot. It wont charge and it wont connect to my computer. it feels like the mini usb doesnt plug all the way in.
    Take a peek inside the port. There is a "shelf" in the middle that should be level. If the cable is plugged in upsidedown, that "shelf" can be bent down or up. I believe some folks have straightened or leveled it very carefully.

    Which would suggest you bent that tab up by putting it in the wrong way up as suggested and if you shove any harder you'll probably break it off!

    If you look at another device with a micro-usb the port is generally shaped more like the plug on the charger. The pb's port is more rectangular (less trapezoid) since it is suppose to eventually support external usb devices like drives and they use a difference plug. The charge plug should fit with the logo facing UP or the narrower long edge at the top. So look in your port and see if that "shelf" or connector is misaligned. It should be parallel to the top/botton of the port and not bent up/down.

    Was in your general vicinity yesterday coming back to Seattle from Glacier National Park. Awful smoke.

    Oh, rim's fix price is based on the size/capacity of the unit from what others have reported but I don't recall the prices.

    I have to give them a lot of credit. My USB port on my 64GB Playbook died and I sent it back to them and 5 days later I received a brand new 64GB Playbook.

    Way to go RIM!!! I wil be sure to spread the news of your great customer service.

    The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"
