Sorry for a strange question ... my rear-facing camera is supposed to be good for 5 megapixels, right? For some reason it's been impossible for me to get photos larger than 1 Mp - and most are under 600K. Even in very well lighted setings, the resolution is still quite low. What am I missing? Is there a setting somewhere that I can change to get better resolution?
Thanks for the reply ... when I swipe down, the only options I get are Pictures, Stabilization, Ratio, Auto, Action, and Whiteboard. Is there somewhere else I can go for the resolution settings?

Yes, please tell us how to adjust/check the resolution. I too only have the above items to select from.
jpeg images are compressed files, so a 5 megapixel image will not necessarily be 5 mb. That's mb=5 megabits. 5MB= 5mega bytes. There are 8 bits in a byte. Anyhow, because of the compression, photos taken at the same settings by the same camera will have different file sizes.
My rear camera images are the same size. Using a megapixel calculator (web.forret.com/tools/megapixel.asp) an image that is 2592 x 1456 = 3.8 megapixel (3,773,952 pixels).
Front camera image size is 2048 x 1152 = 2.4 megapixel.
My Torch 9800 images are 2592 x 1936 which calculates to 5 megapixel.
This could be a simple bug (or feature) in the PlayBook camera application.
