Same here in San Diego. I went to the Costco store, saw the display for Verizon BlackBerry phone and talked to the kid salesman. I asked if he had a demo I could use so I could show my wife. He showed me the phone and it was dead. The two other phones were duds. I told him he lost a sale and he didn't care. I felt like complaining to the management. No wonder Blackberry is having sale problems, sales staff are not equipped to sell BlackBerry. I will go over to att and buy the Z10.
The $49 is a promotional for the phone from Verizon, not the playbook.
