Ooooooo.....Bridge texting would be a nice feature! So many of my contacts (sadly) don't have BlackBerrys, so I use text so much more than BBM.

I don't see cascades in there. Not coming? Delayed? Or earlier?

Anyone even seen BB10 running on a playbook yet ? its seems strange that theres no mention of it.

I saw on Berryreview citing Berryreporter as the source. I would think 2.1 sooner, and BB10 on the playbook in early summer but that is just my guess. We should get a better idea before the end of blackberry world.

I saw it mentioned on twitter yesterday. 2.1 in June, then BB10 in Q3 I think?

Just don't hold your breath for BB10 on the Playbook. Yes, it will come, but RIM has to get the new phones out ASAP and needs to squash any bugs that show up after release. The Playbook will have to wait until after that. While I want the upgrade I would rather wait and let RIM do what they need to do.

The playbook should get bb10 in qt4 I'm surely not holding my breath until then. Who knows the playbook might get a bb10 beta to help get the phones out too..nothing is written in stone.

Did RIM just miss their 2.1 final release date, or was "early summer" taken too literally?

I guess I still wonder what happened to the incremental updates that would have added or fixed issues rather than this long term waiting for another POTENTIALLY big jump in features. I do hope that rim has sufficient testers including the wide open "anyone can test", to really find the bugs before this next release.

I guess it depends on what your definition of "early summer" is. I have been hearing chatter about it being released by the end of July... which to me is borderline past due.. but hey, RIM hasn't been known to get things out early have they?

I don't know where I got my impression, but I was expecting it to come out mid to end of July, 2012. I'm sure there was a thread or two about this some time ago.

I would not hold your breath for BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.1 with a delivery date in 2012. At the rate the tablet operating system has been updated this product will have a lifetime in the decades before the software capability outstrips the underlying hardware. Which in a disposable society would not necessarily be entirely bad.

I think the T-man said it himself...by 'said' I mean 'hoped / anticipated / focused like a laser'. I have written off any expectation any future product will have an actual delivery date and even less hopeful anything the management claims to be truthful.
