Well these threads get boring when I'm not around - so I thought I'd toss this in for everyone to feast on while I catch up on the work Crackberry has caused me to neglect

I thought I would share with you my ergonomic home-office and office-office setup, adapted for PlayBook.

At home, to assure maximum ergonomics, I felt the fully reclined position was a must.
So I happened to have a photographer's camera clamp (bogen) and clamped it to a sliding office divider that I put on furniture sliders so it would slide easily back and forth behind my couch. Mounted on the camera clamp is a document holder that I had to drill a hole through to mount the document holder. The divider slides back and forth easily to adjust distance from PlayBook to eye. Off camera of course is the HDMI flatscreen. When it's time for a nap, or to just use the couch as a couch, the holder can easily be tucked up and out of the way.

For the desktop, (office-office) the PlayBook is placed on a document holder (3M DH640) is awesome) under the monitors and above the keyboard, and becomes the third monitor, (computer actually) which can be used as touchpad to control the desktop (with the correct app), or just another computer or web browser to use while waiting for the desktop to reboot, process stuff, or whatever it's busy doing. Web browsing is always available...beneath that is a slide out keyboard drawer and ergonomic track mouse for kicking back.

So I have my landscape monitor for workstation CAD type stuff, the portrait monitor on the right in portrait orientation for reference documents or keeping an eye on Crackberry, and the Playbook in the middle of it all on the document holder, along with any papyrus based material if you still have any.

In case you're wondering why my Bold isn't in the pic - I use Phone Remote to use and control it on the playbook - I don't even know where the thing is right now...

Works for me! And now you know that comfort and always having the PlayBook comfortably in front of me whilst multitasking is the reason I am able to post so much.. ( to the chagrin of many)

Oh and last but not least - threw in a pic of me with my pet guinea pig...after a tough day at the PlayBook... comfort is the secret to productivity!

Just a little glimpse into the deep dark world of Blackjack....

lol, never a dull moment with blackjack. I like the effort done is creating a Playbook-friendly atmosphere. I don't have this kind of real-estate in my apartment (EDIT: and too poor to afford another monitor), lol. I could't get away with that with the wife.

So kick her out - what is more important- PlayBook or the wife?
One day she will make you choose.

Or... you could put her at the other end of the couch massaging your feet while you surf....

I beg your pardon? Creature? I'm a Capybara - the worlds largest rodent...which might explain why I act like a rat sometimes...

Wow, I've had to Google Capybara, never seen one of them before (we certainly don't have any running around the UK). There we go, I've been educated now and learnt something new! Thank You!

(P.S. is the Capybara and the guinea pig friends? It looks like the capybara could eat that little thing!)

Lol actually they are very gentle creatures - we had some at the zoo here for a while - quite amazing things....and relatively unknown - I had to ask the same thing when I saw one.. what is THAT?

    Another family pic attached...

Like the setup, what do you do for a living that requires the use of an oscilloscope at such a neat work area??

Very lo-tech old Oscope, but it's handy and rugged...contract engineer- FPGA (VHDL) and PCB design for the most part, general entrepreneur.

Unless I don't want to be .... Other times I have my guinea pig to fill the lonely hours in my man cave......
Are you saying no woman would put up with me long term? Could be true..she would get no couch space other than enough for massaging my feet while I use my PlayBook, she would have to take a back seat to it...I have my priorities and standards...

I do need at least one more for the left side but my graphics card won't support it...and a little desk space comes in handy sometimes...

It's been a lot tougher now that I need a dedicated monitor for Crackberry!

So that means you could just turn out the lights if you got crazy one day?
