I rarely use the Messages app on the PlayBook since it's easier and faster to view them off my BlackBerry, but on the rare occasions I'm on Wi-Fi and my phone is not within reach I'd go with the Messages app. Problem is, it's SLUGGISH as all ****. Opening the app takes maybe 4-5 seconds before the message list and window show up. Highlight a message then delete takes another 3-4 seconds before the message is actually deleted. Is this normal? This is happening with all my e-mail accounts, all of them which are IMAP.

Yes mine too, I also get errors when I try to delete multiple messages then app will shut down. Frustrating!

actually I had forgotten to mention that! mine also acts up when I try to delete multiple messages with the app shutting down and not working at all until I reboot. wtf!

That's not usual behavior. I suggest a wipe.

It won't fix the "slowness" though. For whatever reason, the app takes a few seconds to fully load and display the messages (even though they are stored locally).

I have also seen a post regarding another glitch I've encountered. Certain email content causes the mail app to crash. Since there's no way to turn off preview, the only way out is to wait until another message comes in and delete the offending message in a group (or file it away from a different program or device). Also, depending on how you have your accounts set up, bridge may or may not work. IMAP seems to be one of the only things not handled by bridge., for some reason.

Are you all talking the native email or the bridged email?

Mine hasn't even been loading. It opens, then [screenshot], then closes on its own.
