and I thought that was the only place you could NOT use the playbook! Is nothing sacred?
Oh yes there are some Bible apps....
Even God has good taste in electronic devices ;)
Powerful, Portable, Heavenly Playbook!
.
Great News OP!! You got a hip pastor ..:)
are you sure he's not playing angry birds?
My money is on Angry Birds
The BlackBerry Playbook being used to reach out....priceless.
voice notes work great for reflection during the week.
Emanuel is awesome at chuch..best bible for PB yet!!!
Shalom, blessings and Happy New Year to all the fellow Crackberry folk!!
We really must treat the Holy Playbook with more reverence..
.
'and jehovah said to me, take thee a great tablet and write thereon with a man's style.....' Isaiah 8:1
I use mine in church too lol
I am a pastor and I have my Playbook with me every time I go. I show it off to my congregation every chance I get. But we still allow people with iPads because there God still loves them.
Using a tablet in church seems a little over the top, even for pastors. Seriously, I doubt that God is amused...
god approves technology.
god bless my blackberry pastor he is an awesome guy as all pastors are.
just wait the power of the play book is waiting to pounce.
That would be God, with a big G. ;)
He's probably playing Angry Birds! Damn, that game is addictive! :)
Playbook is the Bible I take to church every Sunday. Bible apps are very good!
No, I am not playing games, :-)
Pastors have been using tablets and smartphones in the pulpit for quite a while.
The Playbook's size is perfect. A bit easier to handle than the iPad.

I use my PB32 in church. I've gone paperless when teaching my adult Sunday school class, creating the lesson on a lappy and viewing on the tabby. I use the bridge to access BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 100 versions and 50 languages. (you can add parallel translations easily, which is outstanding). I've also started using it to take notes during the sermons using Word templates created on a laptop. It's frustrating that I still depend on lappy to create docs...
As much as I love my PB32, I think the ipad is the way to go for pastors. Being able to share your ipad screen wirelessly with the church screens would be fantastic. Swiping between Pwrpt slides with scripture inbedded would really be helpful keeping the congregation interested and engaged. But our pastor carries a BB, so the bridged PB would be ideal, and add the mucho lower price tag...
Can you tell I've put some thought into this? I've been thinking about buying our pastor a PB as a tool to help his ministry, and he's already said he could use it. PB stocks are way down now (Bestbuy is SOLD OUT), so act fast if you're thinking about the same thing.
AAAAA-MEN [from the congregation of Crackberry baptists] :D
From the title I pictured you playing NSF during the sermon...
I bought my pb after seeing so many of my colleagues in ministry, especially those who travel alot, carrying ipads. I did lots of research and decided since I already used a bb phone that the pb was the best choice for me. I love it. I use it so much it is definitely being posted as a professional expense.
Hey OP,
Does your church have wifi or does your pastor conceal his bb under his robes? :)
I wonder if your minister was using "wifi-on-high"?
(Sorry about that - just couldn't resist!)
I wonder if he's using the Ignatius Bible (Rsv), the complete, unadulterated Old Testament free of political correctness? ;)
