taking more photos with the Playbook and posting those on Facebook, rather than the photos taken with my Bold 9900.....Bold 9900's camera weakest link on the otherwise excellent Bold 9900.....
Interesting. In the 9900/9930 subforum the camera discussion continues both praising and criticizing the phone's camera. Since I'm considering the 9930 I am interested. My 9650/bold takes really nice pictures and can focus close-range.
I recall reading a hint on using the 9900 for text but can't recall where it was.
This isnt news. Its one of the reasons I jumped in on the Playbook early on. The video and pic quality far out performs any other tablet out there. Take a video and watch it via HDMI on a 1080p TV. Its amazing.
the Playbook camera might be good, but 2 things really hurt it IMO.
first, the fact that it doesnt have a flash makes taking pics absolutely useless in many situations. if u are up using it mid day when the sun is out, then u will get some gorgeous photos but once you are in a low light setting, pics come out very grainy. A flash wouldve made a worlds difference on this tablet.
second, the camera app is completely bare boned. This is something i hope OS2 fixes because most of these apps are hardly integrated with each other. like someone else said, there is almost no tweaking you can do on the playbook for better pics. lol they included geo tagging but we cant even see the location of these photos on the playbook. i hope they have more features in store for the camera app.
