PlayBook Browser - Problems with Google
Hello CrackBerry addicts! This is my very first forum post, because I decided to finally join rather than just lurk the site

Anyway, so I've had my PlayBook for quite a while now, and for as long as I can remember, Google has been my homepage of choice. It loads quickly, and it's obviously a great resource. However, in just the past couple days, I've noticed something that is rather annoying. When I search something on Google Search or Images, the results page loads fine, except for the fact that the page is an older version of Google. It does not prevent me from doing what I need to, but it is a little more of a hassle to use, and it is not as nice aesthetically. I have not changed any Browser settings recently, so I doubt that would be the problem, but I'm stumped. Does anyone have suggestions or solutions?

I have the same problem. My 3 week old PB use to show the larger google search bar in the centre, now it has shrunk and like you said it looks like an older version.

Sorry excuse for a fix.
Just started to happen the other day to me as well. You can click on a button below your image results called "switch to basic version ", I think. It has worked for me but will reset each time you use Google. There are other Google search issues so have been using bing which loads fast but layout of the search results is ugly.

Have you tried one of the alternative browsers which allow you to change User Agent (IE, chrome, etc) which might fool google?
I am starting to guess google is using its immense clout to "convince" folks that they need Android devices. But those vibes do come in more clearly when I wear my tinfoil hat!!!

I have been noticing an issue with Google as well. One major issues is that when I open a new windows and type Google in the address bar it goes to some weird extension and does not load the Page. I then type a letter and hit enter only for it to Google search the letter. Also some times igoogle loads sometimes it doesn't.

That's a problem with how the website recognizes the Playbook browser's user agent, that's why I created a post on their product site for that issue.

Google is very inconsistent in their development.. I usually just search from the browser address bar.. direct google search.. Haven't seen the Google homepage in a while..
