PlayBook browser memory usage
Hi everyone, long time BlackBerry owner and crackberry.com follower, first time poster.
Ever since I did the 2.0 upgrade to my playbook, the browser seems to consume a lot of system memory. With just the browser open with 1 tab I am at 380mb. When I have 2 or 3 tabs open it goes down to under 350mb. Now if I open email (bridge email), I am under 300mb... It varies, but usually it gets down around 280mb. At this point clicking on links in the browser or navigating between tabs gets very slow.
I realize that I am going several things at once here, but that is what I love about the playbook... The multi tasking. Before the 2.0 upgrade I could do this without any noticeable slowdown...
Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.
Thanks! - 03-07-2012, 08:23 PM #2
Yeah, the browser is a bit of a memory hog. I've flagged it in beta zone, but not sure if RIM's going to be able to do a quick fix on it.
