Recently bought a PB for family member. I won't be seeing him for a few months. Will the PB battery be damaged if the tablet is not used for this long?

Have you opened it up and checked it out to make sure everything is working? Then POWER IT OFF, not just standby. Some suggest the warranty runs from purchase date, not when first registered.

I agree with F2. I would open it and check it out. I do believe the warranty starts from date of purchase.
