These "PlayBook is launching on BlackBerry 10" threads are like grey hair. They keep popping up.

Two things are going to happen January 30th.

- People are going to be disappointed when BlackBerry 10 on Playbook is not available that day
- People are going to accuse RIM of breaking the promise to deliver it on January 30th, even though RIM never made that promise to begin with.

All these rumour threads are doing is setting people up to be disappointed.

BB10 on the playbook before the global launch of BB10 not going to happen. I think you heard it from Ronald McDonald at the drive thru speaker. The only update coming soon is to re brand "app world" and a few bug fixes.

I can confirm that PlayBook will definitely be getting version 10 software. I work for a mobile operator, and had this confirmed yesterday by a RIM representative that came to train us on the new devices.

No date as yet, simply because they want to get the launch on the 30th sorted first, and get some decent feedback in the following two months. With that in mind, I would think March wouldn't be too unrealistic.

It's coming because RIM has said that it was over and over again. They even said it just two days ago. It is NOT coming today or any day before the 30th but it is coming. It's gonna be so sweet but not today. Best case scenario is a Dev beta soon after launch....RIM soon.

Rims road map has been spot on since it leaked and there is no reason to think anything has changed. Actually BlackBerry dev said BB10 for the Playbook is ahead of schedule so we can get a good idea of when it's coming by that statement and the road map.

Lol! Been reading this type of thread about one update or another since I got my Playbook a year and a half or so ago. Can't remember one ever being on the money but they are entertaining. Feel sorry for those folks who will inevitably wear out their pb screens and their update finger(s) in hopes of an early miracle. As for me, I'll kick back, watch some movies, read some epubs, play some games, surf the web & figure it'll get here when it gets here. And then I'll see if anybody else's pb implodes before updating. This forum has taught me a lot - thanks Crackberrians!
