PB - so close to perfect for me!
I love the form factor of the PB. As a hardcore iPad early adopter, I didn't think I could find a device that would turn my IPad into an afterthought. With notebooks getting thinner and lighter the size difference between an iPad and the new notebooks really make me see the limitations of the iPad -because I begin to compare what it can do vs. what my Macbook Air can do. I realize that the comparison isn't fair to the IPad, but as the sizes of the devices get close to each other I feel myself making those comparisons.
In contrast, the PB size is absolutely perfect for me. In particular, turning it vertically and typing on the keyboard with my thumbs as I hold it works fantastic for me. Far better than laying an iPad down flat and trying to type on it as if it were a traditional keyboard.
The 4G LTE hotspot feature in my Verizon phone turns it into a speed demon. Wow. Incredibly fast.
Once you have started using the PB OS, going back to the IPad becomes less satisfying and even frustrating at times.
With OS2 the PB has further evolved into my primary tablet. For me, the last thing I need for it to be perfect for me is either Netflix or Amazon video. I watched the entire miniseries Lonesome Dove on my PB at airports while traveling (fantastic series, by the way
) and now I can't access Amazon Prime from my PB.
In short, what an incredible device! Thanks for a great community at Crackberry that has allowed me to figure out how to use the PB so that it works for me.Last edited by SRVwannab; 02-28-2012 at 10:34 AM.

I really like the form factor of the playbook as well -- much better to read books on. I sideloaded the Kindle app and so far that has worked out well. I only wish it had a data connection (no blackberry to bridge it to for me) and it would be perfect. If RIM releases a new version with LTE for a good price I'll be seriously considering getting a new one.
I have really grown accustomed to the swiping gestures on the PB instead of having to press a home button all the time--its great. - 02-28-2012, 11:57 AM #3
The argument I always use (besides that I love it and use my PB everyday, for work and play), is when I go out with my aunt and uncle. She has an iPad2 and uses it for her work (Real Estate agent), and she swears by the thing. Whenever we go out we always use my Playbook to look up restaurants and movie times, etc. The reason is, the Playbook is either in my back pocket or coat pocket and the iPad2 is on her kitchen counter at home because she feels it's too big to carry with her when not working.

The extreme portability caught my eye from the start, everything else is extra
.....haven't looked back since

I too moved from the iPad to the Playbook. It wasn't intentional. When they lowered the PB price I figured I'd get one to play with over Christmas just for the fun of it.
Two month later and my iPad is still sat gathering dust somewhere and I can't see me ever going back to it.
In comparison to the PB, the iPad is just too big and bulky and the PB OS is just sooooooo much more pleasant to use. - 02-28-2012, 12:22 PM #6
