PB Screen Issue - color turns inverted and wont wake up properly
Hey guys
I have been using my PB for over a year now and recently my screen color turns inverted like a film negative or xray when I swipe it up to wake it up or by hitting the power button. I have put the screen to sleep multiple times by the power button before it looks normal. Now I am having issues of the screen turning on on the first swipe or button push. Anyone else having this issue? I always use the neoprene carry case and I have never dropped or spilled something on it.

Some others have had that and there are threads on it. I think most had to call RIM and get a repair or replacement.

I had this issue intermittently before. I would have to put it into standby and wake it up to correct it (but eventually it became more frequent and the standby trick didn't fix it anymore). I suggest contacting RIM support. They have been very helpful to me on a few occasions.

Here's one of the threads that kbz1960 is talking about, and indeed it is likely a RIM repair issue. Mine's currently at the regional repair center now and I'm awaiting to hear the prognosis. RIM does a decent job of keeping you informed via online status updates, but nothing specific. Whether they're able to fix it or decide to just send me a new one, I'll know in a few business days.

EDIT: I should add that RIM will first try to troubleshoot the problem with you by reinstalling the OS and what not. From experience (as I attempted this multiple times before calling in), it doesn't seem to be OS-specific so that didn't help. The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"
