I recently went on a trip and realized my room didn't have an alarm clock. On top of that I forgot my PB charging dock, but had the charging cable. At least they had wifi so I could purchase the alarm clock app! Here is my solution...
Any other inventive PB scenarios??

LOL! Love it.
Awesome innovation - and very designer. Just hope you weren't staying near an earthquake fault...

fav McGuyver tool.

My swiss army knife story is sad and odd. I flew to Denver and had stowed my swiss army knife in the checked luggage along with hiking poles and similar stuff. My carry-on and daypack went through security with me. Did the same on the way home. BUT I guess I had missed the fact that I had originally had a second swiss army knife in by daypack. My 40 year old swiss army knife. It went to denver on the plane WITH ME so was missed in the security check outbound but was found on the way home - confiscated. Other than in Crackberry, I was no more dangerous on the way to Denver than I was on the way home from Denver. I left the second home entirely on the trip to/from Salt Lake city. The pb, by the way, was inside the daypack and went through without issue on both sets of trips (as did the camera, the tomtom, the kindle3, the garmin, the 9650 and assorted chargers and cables and batteries).

Sorry to hear that - that is sad. A tool that you've had that long becomes like a best friend. The stupid thing is that the charger cables can just as easily be used as a weapon...perhaps more easily...

To say nothing of the knitting needles that are now allowed on board. Then there's the screaming babies that could drive even a sane person nuts!

No, I actually used the room key to cut it!! And not close to any fault-lines...
My case has a built-in stand, but I don't like the angle on my desk and it fits better this way. Plus, I can turn it over if I need to get to the connectors.

wow! Very Mcguyver of you. Nice short stack of Blackberries also.
I just did the same thanks...but what keeps it from sliding forward?
I made my own stand out of a bookend

Neat idea that I will have to borrow!! Once the optimum viewing angle is chosen there are a number of options that can be used to prevent the tablet from sliding down. Local hardware/craft stores have self-sticking borders or textured self-sticking sheets of plastic, etc

I used a piece of gaffer's tape to keep it from sliding. It's textured. You could use any tape and just build up a couple of layers for the edge to hook on if needed. The ideal method, IMO, would be to bend the front support in half with an L bend at the end to hold the pb in place. (I hope that makes sense) I've tried one or two but can't get the proper bend with my available tools.

Besides being the network admin, I also manage our cell phones. About 150 lines. Those are my Intl loaners for those still rocking 8330s. You should see under my desk, there's probably 50+ phones

Dude I'm so gonna use this idea and I have plenty of those book ends. How do you keep it from sliding down?

I used some gaffer's tape, which has a rough surface. I made a quick one in one of our other offices and just wrapped several layers of tape around it until it built a small ridge. I'm looking for some adhesive backed foam to give it a soft landing spot
