I would like to add "gone fishing" , so I can't comment cause I'm not here I'm over there fishing...... I think!
If the boat capsizes, in that case, do hold your breathe. But not for a bb tablet.

    Maybe.

I bought my PlayBook in the first week that they were released, Knowing that the OS was not ready for prime time, but had been really happy with my BlackBerry experince (Bold 9000 and Torch 9800). Over the two years of using the PB and listening to BlackBerry (RIM at the time) make statement after statment about the PB updates and having still no modern "real" business level apps (phone or tablet), I finally made the painful decision to switch platforms.

Now seeing all the issues with the Z10 and Q10 in the states (carrier buy in), I believe that my decision was best for my needs. My PB is still used daily at my office as a clock, internet radio, and gaming device. But when it comes to apps they never fully materialized.

I will not buy another BlackBerry device (lesson learned) until they have available all of the tools that I need. I will no longer be an early adopter (on any platform) or believe in anything BlackBerry states until I see it available.

I believe that mobile computing is here now, not in the future, and that apps and tools are the major part of the success (or failure) for any platform.

I have not written BlackBerry off yet, but will be very cautious before purchasing any of there products in the future.
I agree with everything you said except the first word:

    "Maybe"

    I would change that to:

    Probably Not

    (For the reasons you mentioned)

Answer= yes, well already have and will keep buying.

I never expected the PlayBook to be kept as a top priority device in the BlackBerry lineup, as it is I use my PlayBook less now because of my Z10.

[rant]I wish the drama queens would get over their mortal betrayal by BlackBerry and go buy another brand. Please ***** and moan about that manufacturer some place else, this forum has enough self pitying cry babies as it is.[/rant]

I work for IT services in the Civil Service (federal government for my American cousins) here in Northern Ireland. We, like many more corporations the world over, have adopted BlackBerry as our mobile communications devices, for its security more than anything else. We are able to determine to the nth degree exactly what users can do with their BB phones by restricting installation abilies, locking them down to corporate internet and email access etc. We also introduced PlayBooks to our more "high profile" (management etc) users when they first appeared.

When details emerged of RIM's marketplace problems I asked what alternative there is to BB and was told that there is none. BlackBerry is alone in the market with its security features. So if this scenario is mirrored across the globe then I doubt we will be seeing the demise of BB any time soon. But its future, as its beginnings, will most definitely lie in the corporate sector.
Yep, that's their target market you are describing.

I was hoping a company which it paints itself as catering to government and business /professional sector would address core issues that have been plaguing the PlayBook since day one.

My impression of BlackBerry is if you don't fall in those two groups and you're not spending millions with them on a ongoing basis is nothing will get fixed. It seems they totally ignore the CONSUMER market wants, needs... No wonder the PlayBook was a FLOP and they lost money on it.

We also introduced PlayBooks to our more "high profile" (management etc) users when they first appeared.
Q: Are they still using them ? (I would assume so as you want everything within the same vendor/OS, etc... and that you have CUSTOM apps for the device, eh?)

BTW: What a stupid name for a business device.

Employee to Boss= Boss I need $2,500,000 to outfit our sale teams with some new tech.

Boss= What are you going to order?

    Employee to Boss= It's called a "PlayBook".

Boss= I don't want my people "Playing on my time", get out of my office.

Better name: Pro-Book, Work-Book.... something that conjures up images of "Work", being a Pro

You are the kind of person who would happily go for a date with your girlfriend after she had cheated on you.

And you would pay for dinner.

Companies( and chics) love people like you.

    Low expectations
    Short memory
    Deep pockets

    Not quite.

The one girlfriend I have had that cheated on me was shown the door immediately, I don't stand for infidelity or stuff like that, I make this obvious if it looks like there may be some miss understanding in the matter.

It's funny how you would compare a personal relationship between two people and the choice of an inanimate object as insignificant as a mobile phone? What does that say about you?

You must be into short term relationships where it is expected that you trade in your precious possessions every year or two.

As far as the low expectations, short memory and deep pockets goes I'm not sure how this is relevant. I bought my PlayBook because it uses the uncapped data of BIS in my country and it was one of the early 7 inch tablets. The PlayBook also fits in my trousers pocket easily so I don't need to carry it around like a drinks tray.

As for my choice of the Z10, I like the size and feel of the device and the simple fact that it does everything I need it to do and a bit more.

I choose to use BB10 devices because of the QNX based operating system and because it is not what everyone else has.

I am an individual who knows exactly what I want. All my mobile devices are bought cash and I keep them for as long or as shot a time as I choose.

Wait, you said Chics love me?

    Winning!!!!!!!

It's fine. It's what you bought your PB for. But it was and ironically still is marketed on BlackBerry website as a perfect combo with a smartphone. How is the Bridge working with your Z10?
It's been told countless times by the company executives it will be updated to BB10 and will receive major apps compatibility.
Many people, me included bought Z10s and/ or BlackBerry shares based on those claims and wasted thousands $$$

Some people wanted an expensive door stop. I am sure PB does its job and they are perfectly happy. Their door is happy as well. No problem with it.

People who expected what was promised and were lied to won't buy BlackBerry products again.
Unless they have short memory and low expectations that is.

Since I got my Z10 I use my devices differently, overall it has been a win-win situation for me. Legacy devices don't offer me what my Z10 does and for now they have nothing to attract me back to the older devices. What BlackBerry Bridge on BB10 lacks is largely made up for by the fact that I don't need my PlayBook to do what I need to do anymore because the Z10 does it all and more in one device.

As for buying shares, any shares, this is not some emotional decision it is a decision that requires much thought and consideration. I can say with my limited knowledge on owning shares that it would seem that BBRY share owners have lost a hang of a lot less than aapl share owners over recent years.

My opinion on buying shares is if you don't know enough about what you are doing you might be better off going to a casino.

FWIW I neither gamble regularly or randomly buy shares. When I gamble it is purely a social affair and only for fun with the absolute knowledge that I'm going to lose money . It can be fun though. Shares, I let someone more knowledgeable spend my money and even then I don't bet the house on shares! I never have had much trust in businesses I don't run myself.

Before someone twists what I've said around, the value of all my electronic devices is insignificant to me, if tomorrow I was forced to use a Nokia 1100 or something similar I really can say I would survive.

To me life is for living. Exploring and adventure, IMO keep people young, BB10 is just one of my little adventures

This is and has been a good and fun adventure for me.
