    Default PB bridge using 8520

I am using a 8520. I cannot upgrade to a 3G BB coz my employer gives only 8520 (read cheapest) BB.

I am getting a personal PB mainly so that i do not have to carry the hefty laptop regularly and i can send and receive emails and attachments using the PB.

I have read in forums that PB emails and browsing speeds are very slow using the bridge and that also using EDGE network.

My question: Is it possible to use the fast wifi in my office to browse and send/recv emails while using the bridge?

Not yet this will be possible with the non-beta os2.0 . This is scheduled for February 2012.

The bridge browser is slower not the bridge. If you are not in a network area, and want to access the internet using the bridge browser it will be slower compared to surfing via the regular wifi.
When your PB is connected to the net via the wifi it will be a lot faster in surfing.

The bridge and the wifi are entirely different things.
Accessing your emails over the bridge has nothing to do with wifi, however your transfer speed/access of BB emails and files on the PB using the bridge will depend on the charge on both the devices, the distance between them when paired.

It works fine always for me,no lag no problems.

Welcome to CB and enjoy your PB to the fullest

You are right for browsing wifi fast, and even though you only have edge e-mails should be fast, except when downloading attachments. One way to speed it up would be to turn on the wifi on the phone so the data comes in through wifi. This should improve your e-mail speeds.
