So this is the first time I've got this to work on my Playbook.

I have AT&T fiber service, 12 mbps service (I think)

Not sure why it was not working for you before 2.1?

By the way, you should check your PB numbers against a desktop on the same network and confirm you are seeing very close numbers. I had much lower speeds on PB and found out later that my wireless router was not negotiating correctly with my switch. Now it is on par (except for latency).
