Can someone out there tell me why there is a small gray square on the Origami Browser on my Playbook? Does it serve an actual function? Can I make it disappear? Should I make it disappear? Thanks!

It's a "Virtual Touchpad" and you can turn it off in the settings.

Just a little more. It mainly facilitates scrolling. It helps on sites like Crackberry where there are ads on the side you scroll on so you don't accidentally click on links. Yeah, you can turn it off but it is useful if you can get used to it.

It actually gives 'accelerated' scrolling, so if you start with your finger on the square, and move up or down, then the webpage will scroll faster than it does with a normal slide up and down the page. (and as previously mentioned, it helps prevent accidental advertising clickage).

Yeah, it is turbo fast and a little hard for me to control right now. Haven't looked but is there are way to control sensitivity? I think I read on the post on the apps site that he is planning to update the grey touchpad functions.

It's there for you to rub it, very carefully, in a gentle up and down motion, with your right thumb.

And a genie pops UP, I mean out of your pb and grants you three wishes. Wishes that may not involve any updates for the pb or too much ill-will to bbry!

It's a superb feature. I would have paid real spending stuff for that as an add-on to native browser.
NEVER EVER AGAIN CLICK ON A STOOPID ADVERT LINK - YAY!

Doesn't quite work in multi frame pages like Outlook.com/Hotmail (but then who uses webmail)

I'll say it again: BlackBerry should pay a lot of money to the dev(s) of Origami Browser. It brings new life into the PlayBook and shows what quality a BlackBerry app may have.

Maybe make him (them) an offer he (they) can't refuse, an offer to join the BB10 team.

But really, who'd want to be part of the BB10 team at the moment?

I don't see the situation as being so bad. There certainly are many great things that could be done with BB10, and a passionate developer could very well enjoy this opportunity.
