- I've gotten that a few times when I'm out and about. I usually just say "No, it's a BlackBerry" (or BlackBerry PlayBook) and leave it at that. I'm with my two young kids (both of whom have a Kindle Fire) at a mall right now, and the three of us are on a bench, working our tabs. Not that I care (okay, I do, a little), but I'm wondering how many people assume I'm using a Kindle Fire, too. Anyone else get this out in public, regardless of whether you care?02-11-12 01:15 PMLike 0

- One of the reasons many have purchased PB over others as there aren't many alternatives (Kobo Vox is a joke) at the current price range.02-11-12 02:16 PMLike 0
- I don't see anyone who'd want it. I bought it and returned it for the Playbook.
Kindle Fire has speakers pointing towards the ground. No volume buttons. It lags.
It's a great device for basic needs, but if you need power and a way to do many things, then it isn't a good device for you.02-11-12 02:19 PMLike 0 - I haven't gotten that kind of response yet. People who see me with my Play Book would ask me what kind of tablet it is. My wife has a Kindle fire and I compared both side by side. The BB is a little bigger. Speaker are much better on my BB and best of all the BB has bridging. While on vacation, there were locations that did not have WiFi, I was able to use my BB and my wife's kindle, well thats another story.02-11-12 05:37 PMLike 0

PlayBook is a true tablet that is multi tasking Beast that works with a Handheld Monster known as a Bold. How can anyone talk about kindle or other single minded device and compare it to the PlayBook is beyond me. Our young people have a lot to learn between toys and devices.alnamvet68 and PatrickMJS like this.02-11-12 07:00 PMLike 2

- No questions like that, but one kid at school saw me using it and said "That's so cool! What is that?" I was kind of surprised because that girl isn't usually interested in video games. I responded "NOVA 2".
Only after she left did I realize she was talking about the Playbook...02-11-12 07:28 PMLike 0 - Well they both are 7 inch tablets and they are both built by the same company (Quanta Computer) so there is bound to be some design similarities. Basically the Kindle Fire is a lower spec'ed PlayBook when you really think about it.02-12-12 05:09 AMLike 0
- I think its sad that you take your kids out only to sit on a bench in the mall and play on a tablet.02-12-12 06:40 AMLike 0

- I got the "Oh is that a little Kindle reader?" from my sister-in-law at Christmas to which I quickly replied "no, BlackBerry PlayBook" and she had a blank look, turned away to everyone else and said "more pie anyone?". But last time I was asked if it was a Kindle and I said BB PB, the guy said "oh, I have an iPad at home" to which I replied "oh, that's too bad!" and walked away.02-12-12 08:28 AMLike 0
