Got my 32 GB PB at Office Depot right at opening this morning. (I tried to get several for my office, but they only had one of each flavor.) It's updating with 17 minutes to go.
Got mine at Futureshop in a small town in rural Ontario this am. Typing on it now! There was one other keener there at 7am. They had 4 display units setup. I got the 64Gb version. They had squat for accessories so I went to Staples (also open at 7am for it). They had everything but the convertable case (coming this am). They also had a convertable+book style case w a GREAT wireless keyboard/trackpad for $99. It was from Hip Street. The case was too big for my preference (like a big daytimer) but I loved that keyboard. Am going to think on it. I ended up getting the screen protector and HDMI cable from Hip Street and the BlackBerry charging pod. The sales folks at both store were extremely excited about it and couldn't stop telling me why it was better than the iPad2. LOTS of enthusiasm and 4/4 were buying one today if any left.
Just curious to know for those who have already received their Playbooks, did you get an email notification that it shipped? Anyone get a pre-order from Best Buy? Going slowly insane waiting....
I pre-ordered mine in the store. They actually called me last night to let me know it was available for pick up this morning when they open. I cancelled my online pre-order because I didn't get a tracking number.
I still can't get past the BlackBerry ID Agreement screen. I've tried USB connection to my PC, I've been on secure wireless, I've got the Bridge to my phone. What else is there to try to get past that screen.
Just got mine up and running, bridged to my Storm 1 and reveling in the awesomeness! Reading email on the larger screen is beyond great...
and I can play Scrabble on Facebook right from the web! That may not impress most of you, but I love FB Scrabble, especially when I don't have to use "an app for that!"
I'm working on making a list of free games that look interesting for the PlayBook, so I can download them all once I get mine. (It's from the developer offer)
Here's the list so far, and I'll continue to update:
People On My Lawn!
Deep Sea Dive
The Visitor
Zee and the Alien Machine
pong4p
Gravitee Wars
Crazy Gems 2
Feel free to download them and say what they're like.
The good thing about all these Adobe Air apps is that they all have ridiculously small file sizes. I think a 16 GB PlayBook will work out well for me.
On my way to work, I stopped at my local Future Shop at 7:00 AM and bought a 16GB PlayBook.
I was the only customer there but there were 10 hungry salesmen eager to assist me.
Okay, got my PB no prob this morning from Staples. Happy, for sure. But a few things bug me. A) No BBM through Bridge? What's up with that? Also, why no natives BB apps through App World? News, Travel etc? Come on. I'm a little disappointed, not going to lie.
FutureShop delivered the four PlayBooks I ordered at 9:45am this morning! Woot woot, didn;t think they'd arrive this quick. Its currently installing updates...
I just picked my 16GB up. Playing with it in the car as my wife drives us home. Amazing how many times I can click buttons on the network screen and still be entertained!
