    Default Notifications?

Are apps going to have access to the notification bar when the NDK is released?

If so, when that happens, will an app need to be running in order to get a notification? This will not be good if twitter and facebook notifications don't come through at all or even if the app has to be open to get the notifications.

i hope so, i am hoping blaq gets that ability. i would think they would because alot of social network apps would benefit from it. but on the other hand it would require part of the app running in the background.

Blaq is what got me thinking about this. I have no interest in purchasing a twitter app without this functionality. I don't tweet, I only follow and my phone does a great job with notifications for stuff that interests me.
