So, it seems I am the latest victim of the camera bug. It's not totally stuck, it comes and goes so here is to it being a software issue and not something I'll have to call SIMM (RIM's 3rd party repair service in Brasil). Did I ever mention how bad SIMM is?
Wish me luck...
Edit: Oh yeah, BBM is down too. My 9780 was jealous of the attention the PB was getting and is giving me App Error 200 now... When it rains, it pours...anon(4216152) and sputneek like this.11-30-12 06:08 PMLike 2 -

I'm a loyalist, but I never lied to people... I have my share of issues and pet peeves with the PlayBook. God knows how many times I came to the forums to mention I bricked my berry heheheh... The tablet is wiped (just an extra precaution) and on it's way for that long long debrick procedure.
Time to make ...11-30-12 06:47 PMLike 3 -
The norm on CrackBerry when you see a thread about an issue...if it's a PlayBook "did you do a did you try a 3-finger reset"...if it's a phone, "did you do a battery pull?".
Thought I'd change it up.
Thank you and good night!11-30-12 07:12 PMLike 3 - You laugh at the battery pull comment, but actually RIM did make it possible to remove it conveniently with a single tool. All you have to do is lay the PB onto a workbench and use a common hammer. Next you ever so gently raise the hammer and slam it down on the PB with all your might. The case will now be open for you to pull your battery. Then put back in the battery (right way up, you don't want to damage it!) and phone support about the shattered screen.11-30-12 07:18 PMLike 7

But don't worry, you were not reported, nor did I take offence. I did lol though. Even though I may be looking at being separated from my PlayBook, I'm not as ranty as my OP may have led you guys to believe. Hence the giant berries. ^^

OS Download seems to be at 45%...11-30-12 07:19 PMLike 0 - Well, yeah, because those are the 2 things one shall try before doing any deeper bugfixing.

I think the mic is actually shot. It's recording some noise (something that my ears aren't picking up even).
As long as I don't try to video chat/call or record movies/audio notes, I should be fine... But I think this unit is going to be making a trip to a repair center soon.11-30-12 08:26 PMLike 0 -

- I know some have scoffed at the idea of a battery pull on a Playbook, but it may actually help.
A friend of mine had problems charging his Playbook. No matter what it kept stuck at 0% and he would have it stuck in that endless boot/not enough battery cycle and even using 3-button reset and stack charging, nothing worked.
So we used plastic tools to pry open the Playbook and removed the little connector from the battery to the circuit board held down by 2 flat screws, and reconnected.
Everything worked back to normal!
And the Playbook had no sign of being open, that is because we carefully spudged it open with plastic instruments designed for this type of repair. No scratches are dents at all.
The reason this problem may happen is that the Playbook is never completely off, even when it is shut down. I believe any residual settings/registers/memory is still the same and it may need a total battery disconnect and reconnect to reset things.
The Playbook should have come with a small pin hole that basically completely disconnects the battery or does an even lower level reset than the 3-button method (in case there is a button hardware issue) for emergency cases.
For anyone scared to open up their Playbook, you can look on youtube for videos showing it and pick up the plastic tools for pennies at your local hardware cell repair shop.
NOTE: I assume your Playbook is out of warranty and you have no other options, otherwise just go through normal support warranty channels.
