Default No Java on PlayBook, no worries...

Users are being asked to disable /Java/ in their /browsers/ due to a security vulnerability. Since the PlayBook doesn't have Java, it's not affected. (Note: Java and Javascript are two different things.)

    Thanks for the post OP.

For Windows here is the link on the Java site showing HOW TO: How do I disable Java in my web browser?
I would think by now Oracle would have issued a statement, but Dept of Homeland Security says nothing in their update. Still no patch. Remember, while other versions have their issues, this is all about Java 10. All the news articles I saw said to disable, but not how. Most people won't know what to do.

Anybody know if other mobile platforms are vulnerable?

That was my thought as well... And off the top of my head I can't think of any available mobile platform that supports java.

I use several sites that need Java and Java-Script so I'd very much like a tablet that does supports it. However I guess that's not going to happen so I'm stuck with using my main PC. Not a major problem but for me it would be nice to have Java on a the PB.

I worked in IT for many many years including 10 years with Oracle Consulting. Java has always been and, probably, always will be a nightmare.
