This new software is awful...
What the ****, I feel like I've been one of the lucky ones compared to some out there but now I dont know. I installed the latest build as soon as it came out and everything was fine but now....not good. Its so buggy, apps close randomly, it freezing (which has NEVER happened to me before) The browser loads for a few seconds and closes once every 3-5 times. Is anyone else having any kind of trouble with the latest OS or should I do a complete reinstall of the os? I love this thing so I am sort of freaking out.

Sorry mine has been working pretty good the only thing i noticed was when i put it in standby mode over night i have to turn off and on again the wifi. Other than that nothing else.
Are you running the lastest 1.08 or lastest 2.0 OS?Everyday is a good day...some are just better than others.

my browser has always been iffy. before and after applying 1.8. it really bugs me!! usually after i restart it, it's good for another while, but still- it shouldn't come to that
also - sometimes it stops being able to load webpages. doesn't crash, just cant connect. another restart fixes this one. sigh. - 11-28-2011, 08:05 PM #8
The new update has been great for me. Browser loads pages quicker and haven't had it snap shut on me since I updated. I'm loving it. Amazing how we can all have the same basic device and yet have such diverse experiences with it.

I am on 1.08 and this is the worst os by far (for me, atleast) that I have used. All others were incredibly stable and I've never had any issues so this is my first time anything hasn't gone smoothly on this device, kinda bummed out. I cannot wait for os 2 to drop.

The browser has always crashed on me more so while using bridge when I'd have 4 tabs open on 1.7. Haven't had one yet on the dev beta.

to the OP, theres no doubt that all the playbooks are experiencing some sort of buggy experiences, so I would advise you to do some searching and pick and choose remedies that have worked for other people, and try them to your own cause.
Everyone by now I think would have realised how imcomplete these software versions are, so have a bit of patience and wait til February for when 0S2 comes out.
I for one updated to the new PB official OS, and my browsing experience took a nose dive but I found a remedy..at least for browsing on my own network at home: going into the routers settings, and changing a few things as per someone else in the forum's directions.
Good luck, and be patient

Apart from my browser closing suddenly, and rarely, at that, 1.08 has been very stable. I actually think it's noticeably faster and smoother than 1.07 or beta 2.

I am finding a few sites now do "stutter" loading. Not a complete stop of the blue-bar but 3 or 4 jumps to load sites that I _THINK_ loaded smoother before 1.0.8. Not having wifi problems but that's probably due to my older linksys with fewer options!
My Browser imploded before and it still does. Viewed 3 youtube videos and BOOM - gone. - 11-28-2011, 09:08 PM #15
1.08 is for me certainly an improvement over 1.07.
Better wifi, better browsing, better bridging....

I do wish people would stop with the sensationalist conclusive titles for a problem that is unique to them, before even researching to see if it is common or has a solution - don't forget these titles get high visibility. How about something like ...well use your imagination. Something more positive as these thread titles last forever and give a lasting impression good or bad.
The new upgrade is smooth as silk for me. No issues that did not exist in previous ones - you might want to try a fresh install. - 11-28-2011, 09:38 PM #20
Why is everyone so quick to call someone who is complaining about the Playbook a Troll/Whiner. This is a public forum for people to state what is happening in their unique situation. No reason to be so defensive/quick to judge.

I had a problem getting my PB to charge after upgrading to 1.0.8. I had to restart it 3 or 4 times before it would take a charge. Not sure if it was OS related or just happend. Other than that things have been fine for me.
