    HI ALL, GOT MY NEW 32GB PLAYBOOK TODAY AND ON THE FIRST BOOT SAW A LINE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM ACROSS THE SCREEN, i WILL UPDATE THE SOFTWARE TO SE IF IT DISSAPEARS, ANY IDEAS?

    A line from top to bottom? Does it have a color? Does it disappear if you open apps? More details are needed. If it truly is a line that goes top to bottom and doesn't go away after a reboot or two... return it. You just got it today... ask for an exchange.

    Its a very thin line (like a hair), updating rite now, text on updating page is above the line, so i believe its a rim wallpaper problem maybe.
    I cannot return it, it came from us, im in argentina.

    Did you do a hard reboot? It's different than a restart.

    There also cases of stuck pixels disappearing after a time but this the first time I believe that I've heard of a line.

    That's weird, looking at your screenshot close up the line doesn't seem to go through the 'tablet basics' icon. Does it still appear if you change the wallpaper to something else?

    That looks similar to a TAB Fault. You'll most likely have to replace it or live with it.

    I dont see the line on wlight coloured wallpapers, and white icons, but when it change to a coloured (red, blue) wallpaper o icon, you can see the line as in the picture.

    Looks like a classic case of a line of dead pixels. Only solution is to ship it back for a replacement.

    Seems the CAPS LOCK is stuck too

    You can try changing the wallpaper - maybe "exercising" the display will unstick the pixels. What about viewing photos and or watching the sample video?

    Did you buy it from a reputable dealer even if 9000 kilometers away?

    Isn't there a procedure for a security wipe, followed by a usb connection to DM while you depress the physical on/off button?

    99% chances is a TAB FAILURE, I will replace screen when available here.
    bought from BestBuy, but have no way to send it to the US before the 14 days as return policy ask.

    any with dark coloured background will show the line, light coloured backgrounds will "hide" the line.

    dont know the procedures, on the menu it has a wipe option. but wont help as I believe is a tab failure.

    if you call best buy... talk to the manager im sure they can arrange something like u ship them the unit and they send one back to you... its a simple phone call... i highly recommend u do that...
