Hi all! I came over to BB10 earlier this year from ios and android and have become a believer in BlackBerry. I just traded some unused stuff for a PB so I could experience Bridge. Just wanted to say hi and I'm excited to learn more about the PB and what it can do. If anyone has any pointers, please share.

BB Bridge has another update - http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...update-881561/. Functionality with BB10 isn't as crippled as it once was. PlayBook makes a great email/calendar/media player tablet, but functionality and support is not there. You can sideload a few apps from Android to patch a bit of what's missing (Flipboard, BBC news are amongst my favorites). Look up KalemSoft Media Player and Files and Folders, two of the most useful paid apps in the store.

Cool which one wifi or 4g, 16 32 0r 64 gig?
For starters I'd get Battery Guru Box DropBox Ghost Commander PlayePub Book Reader RelaxBok Nature a docking stand to use the PB as a nightside clock.
BlackBerry News is awesome Taptu News is nice too.
I find google chrome the easiest way to side load apps and games if you're into that.

I absolutely LOVED the Bard's tale on my PB. It's hilarious and challenging and fun with just the right amount of raunchy humour.. plus some awesome musical numbers.. "oh it's bad luck to be you" can't get that tune out of my head..

Thank you everyone! I'll start working through all this this week. I'm got the 16gb wifi version. I really want the mini keyboard as well. Will be doing research as I have time. I'm comfortable hacking around with devices so I'll catch on soon enough. I'm super excited about this. I am now a big BlackBerry fan. Don't miss my iPhone in the least.

Buy some movies at PB Video Store for 99c. If you got them for bb10 at BBRY world, they won't play on the pb, unfortunately. The pb has great speakers and screen for videos. Most titles are on sale at both sites. If you run out of space, throw them up in skydive or box.
Welcome and we love our pb, too. Everyone's pretty nice and helpful here. Good luck finding BBRY keyboard...they are very rare.

The PB bridge seems to be kind of flaky. When I first set it up, it made sounds when I got bbms and texts but now it's not notifying me. Is this common?

My favourite feature of the playbook/blackberry combo is plugging the pb into my TV via an hdmi cable and watching a movie while using my Z10 as a remote control via bridge. It works great.

Also, the speakers are so awesome that it makes a good music player for single room use(I use mine in the kitchen a lot while I'm cooking).

Nice one op, many say it's a dead tablet but my two still do 99% of what they did on day one. I use mine daily too, enjoy.

Welcome and we love our pb, too. Everyone's pretty nice and helpful here. Good luck finding BBRY keyboard. any accessories ..they are very rare.

Though luckily you can still find some on eBay / amazon and I would definitely get the charging stand and rapid charger - both have magnetic connections, I would have gone insane had I not picked these up.

Switch the flash off too in native browser if its not needed and get origami web browser in the app store

So I would like to know if bridge on my PB is supposed to detect new BBMs and texts? I thought it dinged at me last night when I first set it up but now I don't get notified on the PB at all. What do I need to do to fix it?

mini keyboards are vvveeerrrryyy rare,,, some people are price gouging them,,, don't pay more than $100/us if you find one,,, they are great to have...

check your settings, (little gear upper right side),,, you can have "glow", (shows a small red glow in upper left corner), or sound, or both...

It's set to glow and sound. I had to delete the bt relationship and reestablish it. Now it is working ok as far as I can tell.

Another issue, when I bring up my browser, it tries to tether to my phone instead of using the wifi at my house. What's up with that?

you shouldn't need to tether your phone if it's a blackberry,,, just use the bridge function...

edit: just noticed you're on att,,, they have an issue w/ bridging the playbook 'cuz it gets around charging you for the data the pb uses,,, there is a workaround for this,,, search forum for att playbook workaround...

not sure if this is the latest release, but it's a good place to start,,, maybe some others on att can offer more help,,, the links in the thread below seem to be for os7 & below,,, looks like you may have to do some digging to find the one that works w/ os10,,, also if you have a hotspot included in your plan, try that...
