If you're able to bring some pay Android apps over, with the developer's permission, then this could be a great tool. Even allowing people to post their own custom made apps could be interesting as well.

Sounds like an interesting idea, but I've got two questions. How are the apps which would be available from your site different than ones where we download the apk and convert ourselves (or download from goodereader)? I assume that the value add would be that the apps on your site would be tested to work on the playbook (vs hit and miss the "old" way). Second question is how you plan to get around the fact that you are charging for apps which are available for free in the Google Play store (as I presume you aren't going to be providing pay apps).

Thank you all for your support, answering bambino - not it is not amazon and answering tovento - if you check my mission statement(about page) in the website it will be clear that these apps would be hand picked/fully operational. What I offer beyond goodereader, which is obviously either a deal or no deal, is that the applications would be proven by the original creators and possibly could arrange full support for those applications as they were only converted and signed android applications. Of course, I cannot make 100% promise that I would get such feature however I will try my best to make it reality. Finally, I can state that custom built applications would be definitely accepted along with an option to receive a percentage of each copy sold. However, these applications would be firstly promoted on the wish-list and only put for sale if draws reasonable amount of attention. Hope that answers some of the questions. I will post more facts about this service during these two weeks, starting with few more today. All I can say so far that this is a great and promising start. By the way, check out links of Facebook and Twitter on the website to keep up with news and please read through the Homepage and About page to get more background knowledge.

Yes, I would sell only fully working apps. Also if any reading this could post this to their friends with BB Playbook would be fantastic (referral). Thanks for the first feedback, really appreciate it
I would like to see a detailed formal definition of "fully working"

I think most PlayBook owners out there would welcome some additional options for getting apps...

But I would really question how many are going to be willing to PAY for new applications... vs. how many you would need to be able to profit from it and keep it going.

Many of the newer and higher quality android apps are not designed for the PlayBooks Runtime. And then PlayBook user base is most likely shrinking at a pretty quick pace due to Hardware Failures and people just finding other devices that meet their needs.

And then contacting the creator and getting their permission..... I've contacted a number of app developers over the last copule of years. These guys are very protective, and while another source of revenue sound like a no brainier to me, they don't seem to see it that way.

Bla1ze, I don't really know what could possibly be wrong as everyone else could get access, but sure I will contact squarespace for a solution. Replying to scalemaster34, you have brought some key points that I have to tackle, which are very very tough to answer. I agree to the point that the potential audience size will be difficult meet my expectations, but what I do hope is people appreciation of buying an app/s which will only require 4 easy steps to receive their application in a matter of a minute or two (still testing various situations). Secondly people would have a chance of checking through the details, image gallery, videos and reviews of their desired product which is different from the typical side loading as you have to source through to find information about the actual application. Thirdly, people would be in no need to be afraid of whether the application will work as it would be thoroughly tested beforehand, hence tovento’s comment and the reply. Fourthly, it will come down to you all guys whether you want to contribute to such project development by buying the applications and me investing the majority of your money to get more applications/deals from the developers to the store.
To explain the fourth point in more detail, I must mention something that people might not know. I am working on this project alone so far and some of you might think oh, he’s just a guy who wants to make some profit from redistributing the applications. I have to say that this is far from me now, because there are many key issues unanswered which will request much hard work before I will experience my first reward. For me, even such a thing like starting this would be phenomenal as it would mean that some base structure for my service has been built. I will eventually need some assistance for getting the apps from developers on this forum and signing petitions to get the application from popular developers like Kingsoft, Mediafire, maybe even Skype to mention a few, maybe even higher someone to deal with any issues regards to delivery or payment for your product, which I think will be eventually necessary, but I know for sure that this will be a heck of a lot work to get the desired applications.
To answer the shirking application choices question, I can say that the Playbook App Player can handle many applications in categories of productivity, music, digital imaging, videos, socialising and some more, the only ones that will be a problem are the gaming related as the high end games require latest android versions (correct me if I’m wrong).
Regards to contacting the application developers (first two: Kingsoft for android office and Colour Note) I cannot say much, but contacted Kingsoft via email neglecting the timezone differences wrote the letter at about 11 a.m. UK, they are based in china GTM +8 so 7p.m. and their contact email “chat” regards to reselling products is up to 6p.m. so I probably just missed it, but will see on that tomorrow or couple more days, will try to call if necessary. Regards to colour note which in my opinion is superb feature to have, contacted them via email an hour later (12a.m.) but haven’t received any response today, will let you know tomorrow and also will try to call eventually.
These are just two primary applications that took for a test to see if I can get the first deals. Although, I must mention that I have no guarantees that this will turn out as expected, hence scalemaster34 mentioned about contacting developers himself with no luck, but I certainly don’t want you guys rush into negative mood on this idea as who knows what will actually happen. Sorry for any grammar mistakes if there is any. Keep up the interest.
    Best regards, Playbook Solutions

Sorry for not introducing to everything at the start, squarespace is a web designing service, which I use to alter the layout of the web page to suit its needs.
