    new to the board, I have been looking for a good offline map app. so far I havent found any for my playbook. I came across "openstreetMap.org" it looks great. I only need los angeles city map for now but have no clue how to get those files into my playbook

    is it possible to just download an LA map from somwhere??? p.s. it looks to me like you can download the map right on the site...

    Osmand, a free app in app world, uses Open Street Maps. You can download maps for offline use, but you can't just download LA- you'll have to download the entire state of California. As a bonus, you'll get voice aided navigation and routing functions included in the app.
