I have a few email accounts setup on my playbook native email. Mostly Google accounts and one work account. All are imap accounts. The Google accounts work great however my work email keeps displaying the emails as unread. I have selected all and marked as read, I even deleted them. And they still reappeared as as unread. Anyone else with similar experiences? Or any thoughts? I have run out of ideas on my own.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that the google accounts are IMAP? IMAP accounts have the advanced option "Initial Retrieval Amount."

Google accounts can also be set up as EAS accounts (Exchange ActiveSync). EAS accounts have the advanced option "Messages Sync Timeframe."

In these forums, several people have described the problem of IMAP accounts not syncing correctly with IMAP servers. As far as I know, no one has described a fix for these problems.

The PB seems to do a much better job of syncing EAS accounts with servers.

If you just enter your gmail address, the PlayBook should interrogate the RIM infrastructuer for details and do it for you. Here are screencaps:

    | My Blackberry Playbook Email Doesnt Suck Anymore

Set up as an EAS account, it should have the option "Message Sync Timeframe" as shown in those screencaps.
