I have a mac computer and a 9900. I'm thinking about getting a playbook...but wanted to ask if the playbook could be used to upgrade the OS on the 9900, and back it up...since I don't really like backing up the 9900 on the mac, and I'm not even sure if it's possible to upgrade the software using the mac.

No, you cannot use the PlayBook to back up your 9900. The Desktop Manager for mac does allow you to back up and restore your blackberry device. Check out the link below

Yes, thanks...I am currently using my Mac to back up my 9900. I don't think it would work to update the OS with a leaked version though...would it?

Not sure if there are leaked versions of the BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS and DM would not allow you to update the PlayBook with a 'leaked' OS

Some people have success on macs using bootcamp etc. to install leaks on their phones but like has been said the PB can not be used that way..........yet.
