Well, my PB finally arrived. I ordered it on the 7th, so it only took 3 weeks to get from Illinois to Southern California. So, I logged in and am downloading the update. I can hardly wait to start downloading apps. What would be the suggested first app?

I have a ridiculous amount of apps on my pb. Maybe start off with Poynt, Score Mobile, and Solar Explorer.

    Congrats

In terms of apps, depends what you want to use it for. There are some great ones out there, just browse the Top Free and Top Paid sections of App World, and then start sideloading You'll want Google Maps (Latitude) and a couple others.

    Good luck, have fun!!!

Congrats on your new PlayBook. If you like games there are a plenty of them FREE and paid. EA is having a 50% off sale, they can be found in app world. I hope you enjoy your Playbook as much as I do

Other than Poynt as is suggested above, try the free version of Tablet TV. Then if you like it there is a paid version with more options. It mostly just links you to different sites but it's a good app to show you where to go for streaming video and works pretty well. enjoy the PlayBook. Mine goes with me everywhere

And also if u like reading, I recommend sideloading Kindle.

You can sideload to your hearts content from here :

Yay for you! Love your enthusiasm! Can't possibly add anything to @playbookster's list cuz all of my games are on it (and WOW!! ) so download what sounds good to you plus maybe a file browser (I like Files and Folders cuz the native one is very basic) and enjoy the heck out of your new Playbook!

    Nice!!! Welcome!! Your first app should be Netflix....no, no....wait....we don't have that...OH, I KNOW.....Skype!.....ohhhhh, wait....no, no....we don't have that one either....

Hehehehehe....I'm just playing with ya, of course! There are a lot of really good apps to play around with, both native and Android. You're gonna hear a bunch of negative stuff...don't pay attention. Focus on what you want out of it, and what it can do, not what it can't.

    Congrats, and welcome!!

Congrats and welcome! The first I would do is to download the PlayBook OS2 User Guide, then read through the Newbie Tips And Tricks sticky at the top of this forum. Believe me, this will save you a lot of time, questions and research, as well as get you on your way to enjoying the versatility of your PB much sooner.

Well, after a long OS upgrade last night, I have linked to Blackberry Manager and transferred 250 music files, sideloaded 8 apps, and downloaded some apps from Blackberry app store. When I try downloading Modern Combat 2 (the freebie), it gets part way through and I get an error.
