Just got my new PlayBook - Thanks Staples!
I am the proud owner of a 16GB Playbook.
I was looking at the plethora of Android tablets vs the Playbook. I tried to be rational and compare as if I did not have a Blackberry. I do have a Storm 2 so the bridging helps, but it really is the bezel gestures that pushed me to PB. I do like the smaller footprint, but the navigation seems natural to me. The hardware seems up to par and the software, albeit a work in progress, is unique and powerful.
$100 off is a heckuva push!
Now, I need to get a convertible case and warranty ... - 07-30-2011, 08:05 PM #2
congrats....I have both a 32 playbook and a galaxy tab. both are actually pretty nice devices, but the bezel gestures and speed of the playbook make it my favourite. my wife winds up using the galaxy at home and leisure with the streaming apps for tv and video, and it's pretty cool Nav, while I use the Playbook for reading with kobo, work with Conqu and bridge email, and the rally great browser. I also presented with it the other day using slide show-to-go, hdmi out and presenter mode which amped up the cool cred pretty significantly...the playbook has way more upside...In Canada the playbook does a nice job with the Rogers on Demand streaming

i got my PlayBook from Staples as well, and got the $100 off, about 1 month ago. they quoted me on the phone that they had a 64 gb model IN STORE and so when i show up the salesperson (high school kid) tried to pull the switch and say she could discount a SD card for me.... LOL! Once the manager was involved it did not take long for her to take $100 off for the 'mistake.' i personally think she knew the sale was coming, but whatever i got my deal!

Yeah this was my second playbook. Wife decided that she wanted to use my 16gb for work and trips down the shore and I was eyeing up the 32gb. I originally went with a bestskinsever.com ($15) screen protector. You could also go Zagg ($20), since if you screw it up, they will send your replacements for free as long as you send the damaged one back.

Welcome to the wonderful world of PlayBook. My Staples PB was an online order but still a fine deal. Love it.
