Iplayer no longer working over bridge 'handset not supported'
I'm certain iplayer use different to work over bridge to my bold 9900, now I get the,'handset not supported over 3g message'
I'm on virgin UK, I may have been on o2 when I used this before but this is a real blow, I intended to use my bold and playbook on bridge when we move as adsl there will be 1meg! Infinity due in a few months though ;-)
Anyone else having this problem? I also tried using phone as wireless hotspot and a separate mifi device so maybe it's a carrier issue

Iplayer no longer working over bridge 'handset not supported'
Appears to work fine on my ipad connected to the device, reading online the android + ios apps work over 3g - nothing else does!
I did contact my provider, they're not blocking and do support hotspotting.
Shame as we have 2 playbooks and 1 ipad maybe they'll do a html5 variant or bb10 specific app but as windows phone / surface isn't supported I'll not be holding my breath.
Regards
Damian

If memory serves, the BBC only allow certain devices to access on 3G, so check to see what they say on their website. They may have changed it, or it may be that it now reads it as an Android device given the mobile launcher.
One way of testing that is to access the full desktop iPlayer through Simple Browser and see if that works with the phone bridged. Something seems to have changed with the launcher because I think I used to be able to access HD content and now I can't - except through the desktop site. - 01-14-2013, 04:23 PM

Brilliant it works, seems to keep pausing (even when I switched back from 3g to my wifi) but my broadband's been a bit tempremental recently!
Very Happy - Thanks :-)

Iplayer no longer working over bridge 'handset not supported'
I think the app on the blackberry playbook is just using the native browser (or just a shortcut) and they block specific browser I'd's as their site says it will only work with the android and ios apps and setting the browser I'd's to those platforms didn't work.
Its a little annoying but no problem with simple browser :-)
