    Default international charger

I was just in my local Staples store and decided to pick up an international charger for my PlayBook. The price was right at 12.97, but it rang in at 4.97. Just thought l'd let you know.

Like your charger, Staples is international. Can you please clarify which region and save everyone else from a wild goose chase...

I think it's Canadian pricing because I paid the same price for the international charger yesterday in Vancouver. (The rapid charger is $9.97 and the desktop charger is $14.97)

I also got one for $4.97 + taxes at staples in Oakville ON. There also plenty of PB cases and skins on clearance.

Hi. I have a question about this charger. Ever since the release of the playbook there has been many posts and controversies to the BIG question "CAN I CHARGE MY PHONE WITH THE PLAYBOOK CHARGER" ????
Well this charger claims to be a rapid charger for BlackBerry smartphones. Or standard charge for playbooks. But when I look at the specs of it, it has a higher out put than the playbook charger. Pb charger is 1.8A and this is 2A
Will it ruin our phone batteries???
    Thx Keith

You won't be able to use the ”quick charger” with the phoneas it is a different connection. Quick charger is also only a few more amps than the standard playbook charger, but outputs 12v. I use the standard playbook charger with my bb phone all the time, though.

NO. The phone will take what it needs and no more.

Rim sells the pb's standard charger as a rapid charger for their micro-usb port phones. They might have upped the specs a tad.

When I just went to Europe, I took my pb's Travel (well, named, if a bit bulky) Rapid charger to charge the pb and I took the pb's standard charger to charge my phone and as backup to charge the pb if necessary. I admit to more redundancy - I also took the 9930's smaller charger, too, as well as my camera's separate charger. No wonder they double checked in Amsterdam!

Sorry for not being clear. I'm pretty sure this is the charger the OP is talking about.
