You can get the movie "Inception" for $9.99 in the Video Store (Canada) that was recently released in the app world. Most of the movies were on sale for $19.99 but this movie was one of the exception.
Also, "Phantom of the Opera, Valentine's Day, Yes Man, Pay It Forward, Life As We Know It, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, Garfield the Movie, Ice Age, Borat, Night At The Museum" are also $9.99. There's probably more movies at this price, mostly old movies, but some are worth keeping.
Yeah I do think some are overpriced.. But like iTunes charges "Inception" for $14.99 while for PlayBook it is only $9.99, so not all movies are overpriced.
I purchased this movie on Blu ray. It came with the Blu ray disc, a DVD disc, and a code to download it but It won't play on the PB since it uses DRM (iTunes or Win Media). Well lets just say I've watched it on the PB and looks great!
I do think the movie prices are a bit much but with the HDMI out any 1080p movie is portable. So like I mentioned above I bought the Blu ray disc and it was $25 plus tax but for $10 a movie on the PB movie store I can put it on the TV in 1080p which is a good deal. But you need the extra storage
You can also use FreeMake to convert your movies to MP3 or MP4, on the PC, to then load to your PB... After I convert, it is saved to my Movies (Win7) and I use BB DeskTop Software to add them to the PB.
It's easy and free.. Also has a setting for Blackberry.
Make sure you watch your credit card charges. They billed my $24.99 for a $9.99 movie. Now trying to get them to refund the difference they over charged. Hopefully they fix the issue without having to contest the charges with the credit card company.
