The comment below, was a shock to me. I used the browser and web email, via gmail to receive and send email, huh, just like a PC.

"There was considerable surprise last April that the PlayBook, the companys answer to the Apple iPad, initially could send or receive e-mails only by being connected to a BlackBerry phone."

The way they make it sound is you had zero email on Playbook, wtf!

webmail doesnt count as "having access to mail" in most peoples opinion. Obviously if you have a web browser you can check your email. You can check your email via the web on your blackberry phone also you know...

While reading the article I wondered, should a tablet perform like a phone, or should a tablet perform like a cell phone?
    And,
Would people rather a have a tablet perform like a pc or a cell phone?

From The article you'd expect a tablet to perform like a cell by their views.

The initial reviews back in April 2011 also could've been worded differently. In the end, what they were trying to say was that it was shocking that RIM, the company that basically invented pushed email to your mobile device, released their first tablet without it.
