And yes, one solution is to read the message in a blank Reply. (This works the same in Full mode as it does in Lite mode, as RecioC notes above.) Another option is to use Ultralite mode, which was developed explicitly for iPhones, but works well with other touchscreen devices. For example, I use it on my BB Storm all the time.
The Ultralite interface has some limitations, however -- the most significant of which, IMO, is the inability to open any folders other than the Inbox. (As a workaround, Ultralite does give you access to the All Documents view, so you can find any filed messages there, but it's annoying to have to do so.)
Also, your school's IT dept might have to explicitly add the PB browser's User Agent to the configuration of their iNotes Redirector database. I say "might" have to because I just looked at mine, and all I have added is "blackberry9350" -- the User Agent for my old Storm 1. However, I have never had a problem accessing iNotes using my Storm 2 or my PlayBook. In fact, I just removed that BB-specific string from the configuration altogether, so that the only devices my server is currently configured to support are the iPhone and iPad, and it still works on both my BB and my PB. Interesting.
If you are unaware of how to access the various available "weights" (or "skins," if you prefer) of the Lotus iNotes UI, you need to click the "Personal Options" link when logging in. If your IT dept has not modified this login screen at all, then that link will be in the upper right-hand corner of the login screen, as in the screenshot I have attached. If, however, they have modified this screen, then the link could be somewhere else, could say something else, or could be gone altogether. In that case, you will need to create a browser bookmark that points to http://<server.domain.tld>/<mailfile path>/?OpenDatabase&ui=inotes_ulite, where you can determine the variables by examining the path to your Full mode mailfile.BigAl_BB9900 likes this.06-02-12 10:51 AMLike 1 - Notes admin here, log in on your pc and pull up the preview window. Then login via the playbook, one touch or tap brings up the message in the preview screen. I have been on 8.xx since playbook was released so I can't confirm if this works on lotus 7.xx or 6.xx.BigAl_BB9900 likes this.06-02-12 10:08 PMLike 1
- I know this is the old topic that I created but I have a question about ultra lite mode. When I use the ultra light mode for some reason oldest email on Page 1 and newest email on Page 25. Is there any way that I can sort so that newest email will show first on Page 1
