I have 2 PlayBook do I have to pay twice for the same applies?
I am lucky to have received my second PB yesterday and have begun to buy some apps on my first PB do I have to pay again to load the same apps on my second PB?

If you registered the 2nd PB with the same BBID, then no, you won't have to pay twice.
You'll find the Apps you bought on the first PB on the 2nd PB under the "unistalled" tab of AppWorld. Just hit the re-install button to get them onto your 2nd PB.Proud Member of the PlayBook Beta Test Team (Since June 2011) - 02-03-2013, 09:12 AM

Cool. Kinda what I was thinking but thanks.

Yup, it's cool... the only side effect of using one BB ID to more than one PB is, you cannot make video call on those PB's having the same BB ID...

I have two as well, it's awesome not to have to pay twice for the apps. If you don't already have it, I recommend Nexus to share between pb's, it's a sweet simple app that allows you to share multiple files between pb's, very useful if you own two. I have one for work one for leisure, but often use both tablets for working on docs. Great way to transfer pics!

^^YES!
Reason: Purely business. This will discourage users to use one BB ID to multiple PB's to increase the sale of Apps and games... - 02-04-2013, 02:19 AM #8
This is great info. Good to know. Thanks for posting guys

Video calling works between two PlayBooks with the same BBID. You make the calls using the PlayBooks' PIN's. The only time it doesn't work is when the two PlayBooks, with the same BBID, share the same wi-fi hotspot.
2 PlayBooks, 1 BBID, call using PIN's, different wi-fi hotspots YES
2 PlayBooks, 1 BBID, call using PIN's, same wi-fi hotpot NO - 02-05-2013, 02:27 PM #12
Re: I have 2 PlayBook do I have to pay twice for the same applies?
If I had 20 playbooks could I register with the same user ID and pay only once for the apps? What is the limit on the number of devices registered under one ID ? There is an ethical question in here somewhere. Of course we are familiar with the position Microsoft takes with their software. Personally I think that upgrades and bug fixes should be included in the original price and that you should be able to move the software to another machine. Major changes as from Win 7 to Win 8 might require a new purchase. Don't think app developers generally think it's OK to put it on as many machines as you want but some might go along with the idea as long as it is all in the family. The use with a phone and tablet is a different situation since this is the same person with logically only one ID. Same might be claimed for two tablets or more which one individual uses. And you could loan these out I suppose to your family or friends.

RIM say you can have up to 5 devices sharing a BBID. As Apps are purchased by a BBID, not by a (device-unique) PIN, it follows that up to 5 PBs can share the same Apps, purchased once.
It's all described in one of their knowledgebase articles, so RIM don't seem to be in any ethical dilemma over this.
However, should anyone have personal ethical issues with this, I'm sure there's nothing stopping anyone from registering each device with a unique BBID.Proud Member of the PlayBook Beta Test Team (Since June 2011) - 02-06-2013, 12:08 AM #15

I have to admit that I haven't verified it myself, though I do have 2 PlayBooks on the same BBID. The first thing I tried when calling by PIN's became available was to try it on my 2 PlayBooks on my home wi-fi and it didn't work. I posted about it and two people responded that they were able to do it, but the second PlayBook was somewhere else, on a different wi-fi hotspot. I guess they might have been mistaken, as three people on this thread says it doesn't work. I'll stop spreading the disinformation, unless I can verify it myself. Sorry.
