    Default Hulu blocked

I'm sure there will be many of us posting this at the same time (unless it already has... I promise I searched), but Hulu has been blocked.

    Damn.

Edit: A workaround has been graciously created at http://playbookrevolution.com. Check it out!

Would be great if a lawsuit was brought against hulu for discrimination. I mean who the f*** cares if you are on a tablet? Damn nazis....

If all mobile devices are blocked shouldn't all laptops be blocked as well. I can get a USB mobile card for my laptop and watch Hulu anywhere just as you could on an iPad, Xoom, or Playbook...they need to re-think their def of mobile devices.

    damn what a bummer!!
If i've helped a simple click on 'Thanks' or like will do.
This helps in cases when converting and signing apps.

    Actually mine is still working...Shhhhh

I just kept tapping the grey area to the side till the "Blackberry browser is not supported" pop up went away. Browsed to Family Guy and it's playing as I type!

UPDATE: I "believe" clicking "continue to browse" disables the playback. Avoid clicking it by tapping the grey area till it goes away!

EDIT: Nevermind. This no longer works. Use the embed option. Details on page 2

Okay...that is annoying. I watched Hulu last night for two hours. If Hulu won't work this PB is going back. It's one of the main reasons I bought a tablet with a FULL browser. I'd like to see a statement.

All RIM needs to do is put an option to identify as a desktop browser in the user-agent string in the PlayBook browser. With that simple option there's NOTHING any of these greedy bastards can do about us watching the content (that I PAY for, no less) on the device of our choice.

That was an option on my Bold 9000. I agree it's an option that needs to be revisited on the newer devices.

I never said a new tab. Just to TAP the grey area around the pop up. Don't click the "continue to browse". This is honestly working for me. Try it.

Yes it's SUPER simple to implement and it can work as a huge virtual middle finger to all these media sites. There'll be absolutely nothing they can do if they can't identify devices as PlayBooks.

Ask, I guess. I just DMed a RIM developer relations guy on Twitter with the suggestion. I see no reason for RIM not to do it. It's not like anyone can stop them and there's no law anywhere stating that a browser must identify itself correctly.

p.s. that trick doesn't work for me (anymore). clicking in the grey makes the popup go away but the player area stays black for me.

Clicking the gray area doesn't work. You can browse the site but not play any video

figured out a workaround. i only tested with gmail but here goes:

browse to the hulu video you actually want to watch.
you should see a large black box where the video would normally be playing.
scroll to BENEATH that and hit the link that lets you copy the "embeddded" code for "sharing"
in the browser open a new tab and go to gmail.
compose a message to yourself and paste the embedded codes
    send the message
wait until you get your own message
it should look just like the embedded codes you sent BUT with an active hyperlink in the middle
click the link and the video should load in a new tab
