Bought a new Playbook, price was too low not to. It's a solid piece of tech. WiFi only, 64GB. Calendar and email accounts synced and working. File transfer not.

Can't transfer an .opml file from my desktop or Q10 by bluetooth, service not supported is the error message when I try. WiFi transfer and Bridge don't work either. USB tethering doesn't work as my Linux distro won't mount the PB. Any suggestions for a work around? I guess I could always load BB desktop software on an old MacBook.

I would use a Dropbox account on the desktop, the Q10 and the Playbook. Get the Files&Foldrers app onto the Playbook which allows you uploading and downloading access to Dropbox and you're all set.

Wifi sharing does not work? I set up a static address for the pb and then use:

\\192.168.1.164\media

To access it. I would guess that there must be a way in Linux???

Yes, Rim/bbry never implemented the bt file transfer protocol.

Files & Folders is a really well designed and thoughtful little app. I've got depth of search and access I didn't think I could get with the PB. Linked to my DropBox account I've got cloud access to anything I need. Thanks very much for this suggestion. And kudos to the F&F devs.
