I have a 16gb that I filled up. Looking to get a new one. Might bite the bullet and the the 4g model. The $150 for 16gb wifi one is tempting though.

Are they going to continue to have a wifi model and a 4g model?

No US carriers have launched it yet, so nothing to buy here.

Bla1ze got his from RIM. They were recording the podcast when RIM called and Keving arranged to send him one.

But yeah, people in Canada are buying it. We're sure to have a report in at least a month.

Next earnings call may reveal #'s.. maybe. But the next earnings call will be even more brutal than the last one so maybe they won't say.

Man I really want one. But at the high price, lack of live sports apps and the $40 a month for a maximum 5gb data plan........................ jeez. Sorry RIM. It may not be your fault here but I'm not going to buy one. 5gb is a few Hockey games. Just not worth it at all.

Subsidized tablets appear to be a thing of the past at AT&T. VZW will probably follow, given how those two carriers have historically acted.

I have a feeling this was planned as a low volume product and not many units will be produced so as to keep the msrp high for the few people who want it. I'd be suprised if they sold 5000 in this fiscal quarter given how late in it, it was introduced and its limited distribution.

Hmm, right now only Canadian carriers are point of sale partners. Last I heard RIM was still in the process of working out a deal with Best Buy and Future Shop. Did this change since... the 14th of August?

That is the impression I got.

Are they going to ditch the wifi model and just have a 4g model? I'm a little confused about their strategy at this point. Shouldn't they have come out with the 4g model to begin with and then the wifi model when the bb10 phones were rolling out so people could bridge, etc.

Went to see the bourne Legacy a couple weeks ago. Girlfriend is using a Palm Pre 2 and is going to get a bb10 phone. We were amazed that during the intros and other movie clips was a commercial about the galaxy 3 ! I thought it was a great commercial and it had everyone's attention. Blackberry should jump on that. Its a great place to run a commercial and with all the TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE stuff, everyone has phones on their mind. Brilliant spot. Are you paying any attention RIM?????????

Varies by carrier, but here in Canada we can get an LTE hotspot for about $50, you'd then have to get a monthly rate-plan to go along with it. It's a standalone hotspot with nothing but a power switch and a few LEDs. For example I have a little LTE Hotspot that I keep in my wallet, costs about $50 on a 3 year term, then I pay about $30 a month for 500GB of data.

    No, I mean portable hotspots...

    Here's the one I have:

No computer needed, no phone, no nothing. Just this device. It's like a mini-router that has internet wherever it goes.
